Socieity for Latin American and Caribbean Anthropology
Spring Meetings 2009
Call for Sessions, Papers and Posters

The Society for Latin American and Caribbean Anthropology (SLACA) is joining the Society for Applied Anthropology (SfAA) in its Annual Meeting which will be held in Santa Fe, New Mexico on March 17-21. The theme for the 2009 SfAA is Global Challenge, Local Action: Ethical Engagement, Partnership and Practice.

We invite SLACA members to submit panel sessions, papers, or posters examining how anthropological theory, ethical engagement, partnerships and practice can contribute to building a more just and equitable world. We welcome paper and session proposals that engage with social problems in Latin America, the Caribbean, and first generation migrants from these two areas around the world.

SLACA members do not have to become members of the SfAA to participate in this conference, but still they have to register through the SfAA site.

Please follow the instructions found on the SfAA registration site. All sessions must be submitted on line by 5 pm ET October 15, 2008. Forms to submit panel sessions, papers, and posters are available on the SfAA website.
